Joseph Bressi

Chief Executive Officer

Joseph Bressi has over 38 years experience in real estate development and corporate finance and capital markets, working on projects in the USA, Canada, and China. During his career he has been involved in over 56 projects with an aggregate end value in excess of US $12 billion. This includes 31 projects currently planned for development.

Mr. Bressi launched Heritage Investments Capital, and prior to that was President of an Ontario Limited Market Dealer (a registrant with the Ontario Securities Commission) focused on corporate finance and venture capital transactions based in Toronto, Canada with branch operations in New York, Hong Kong, and London.

Mr. Bressi is currently the CEO of Global Funding Partners Limited in Canada, and Global Funding Partners LLC in the United States of America. The companies are focused on development in the US, Canada and the Caribbean. Mr. Bressi remains the CEO of Heritage Investment Capital.

Michael Spengemann

Dipl.-Kfm

Chief Investment Officer

Mr. Spengemann has over 18 years of investment experience as an executive with four major banking companies in Canada and Germany, as well as having served as a principal of a portfolio management firm for an additional 14 years.


From 1992 to his joining Global Funding Partners, Mr. Spengemann managed investment portfolios at PKM Portfolio Services Ltd. under a global strategy focusing on growth potential through equity, bond, currency investments and joint venture opportunities through major banks in the United States and Europe.

 

From 1988 to 1991, he was President and Chief Executive Officer of

Scotia Investment Management Ltd., a subsidiary of Scotiabank, responsible for the subsidiary’s discretionary investment management business.

 

Mr. Spengemann was a Senior Vice President of Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce and Director Pension Funds Investments from 1982 to 1988, responsible for investment and administration of $2.5 billion (Canadian) assets including a $ 1.1 billion pension fund covering the 33.000 employees of the bank under management by a sixteen-member professional team.

 

He served as the European Representative of Gordon Securities Limited from 1981 to 1982, developing new business relationships with European banks and financial institutions for investments in the Canadian equity and fixed income markets.


Mr. Spengemann completed a banking apprenticeship at Dresdner Bank AG and served in various management positions with Schroeder, Muenchmeyer, Hengst & Co and HypoVereins-Bank. from 1962 to 1981. He received an MBA in Banking and Investments from the University of Berlin in 1969.

David Franklin 

Chief Legal Officer

David Franklin was called to the Law Society of Upper Canada in 1973. His areas of practice and expertise are Real Estate, Financing, Corporate Commercial, Tax and Securities Law.

Beyond his legal and regulatory expertise, Mr. Franklin has wide experience advising and managing investments, developing tax strategies, corporate finance, syndications and real estate development. Involved with Canworth Investment Corporation - which was partnered with Goldman Sachs and subsequently TD CMO -  that focused on origination/securitization of commercial mortgages in Canada. In 2013, David was inducted into the Worldwide Who's Who in Real Estate Investment. David co-authored the book Buying U.S. Real Estate, published in 2012. David joined the board of directors of the Canadian Judicial Review Board on October 22, 2019.

Mr Franklin holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Toronto and an LL.B. from Osgoode Hall - York University.
